Governor on to the Dell School

Mathern Community Council is due to nominate a representative Governor on to the Dell School Governors Body for a period of 4 years.

Due to changes in Councillors numbers and commitment already given by Councillors to stand and represent the community – Councillors will struggle to nominate a representative who will be able to carry out the very important role and represent Mathern on the Board of Governors – Councillors also feel that it is important that the role is carried out by someone with active interest or involvement in the school such as a current parent, grandparent or person with educational background.

The commitment required in respect of meetings and training is as follows. The school hold one full Governing Body meeting every half term (i.e. six per academic year), and each Governor is required to undertake two mandatory training courses (induction training and understanding data training), which are both available on-line and each can be completed in one evening. Additional training is also available should a Governor seek/require it.

For further information, the “Governor Team” page of our school website has some useful reading material available for download, and can be found here:

If you feel that you could represent the Village on the Governing Board as Community Council representative and would like to put your name forward please contact the Clerk of Mathern Community  Council,  Jane Kelley info@matherncc.co.uk  Before Monday 11th July.
